The Madison Arts Commission announces that the new MAC Annual Grant Applications and Guidelines will be available on the MAC Website, www.cityofmadison.com/mac on Friday, February 20, 2008 March 15, 2009 is the last day to apply for a Project, or artWORKS! Grant. The City of Madison distributes funds to Madison artists and non-profit organizations through the Madison Arts Commission's annual grant programs. Project Grants provide up to $3,000 for performances, exhibits or events that enrich the cultural lives of Madison citizens. ArtWORKS! Grants provide up to $5,000 for neighborhood after-school arts-based educational programming. The deadline for the Signature Grant which provides up to $5,000 for a new and original work has been changed to October 15, 2009. Thinking of applying? The Madison Arts Commission still has a few openings in a MAC grant writing Workshop being offered this Friday, February 20, 2009. If there is much more demand for the workshop, a second workshop will be offered. There is no cost for this one-hour workshop intended to give you a brief introduction to MAC's grants process, from a review of our guidelines to a description of the panel review of your application (workshop does not cover the BLINK grant). The session is offered this Friday, February 20, 2009, from 12:00am-1:00pm in room LL110 of the Madison Municipal Building, 215 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. All are invited, but new applicants are especially encouraged to attend.
