Madison Arts Commission Presents Madison Open Arts Studios Madison Municipal Building, 215 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. MAOAS work on display in the exhibition cases, Located in the first floor lobby, June 10 through August 14, 2009 Exhibition hours M-F 7:00-5:00, S 8:00-12:00, closed Sunday Madison Area Open Arts Studios, an organization of Madison area emerging, mid-career, and established local visual artists, is holding group show of their work in the cases near the Post Office at the Madison Municipal Building until the end of August. Madison-area Open Art Studios provides an annual citywide visual arts event, which celebrates the diversity and vitality of the visual arts in the Madison-area. The event increases awareness and appreciation for Madison-area art and its artists, and provides a sharing of artistic process, which facilitates a forum for dialogue between artists and the community. The MOAS exhibition in the Madison Municipal Building currently displays the work of: Angela Johnson, Helen Klebesadel, Ann Athat, Tom Linfield, Judi Werner, Efrat Livny, and Monique Isham. Represented work includes photography, watercolor, monotint, ink on vellum, and jewelry some of which will be part of their opening night reception and auction at the Overture Center on October 2nd from 6:00-9:00 p.m. The Madison Arts Commission's ARTspace program is open to all Madison visual artists who would like to showcase original two-dimensional works in highly utilized city spaces.
