
Sprinkler System Extinguishes Fire
On Saturday, April 3rd at 4:51 pm, City of Madison Fire Department was dispatched to 4665 Treichel Street to a reported structure fire. A resident living on the first floor of the condominium unit called 9-1-1 to report seeing smoke and hearing fire alarms. Other residents evacuated the building. Upon arrival the crews were met by the occupant of Unit #202 and were directed to the fire. Fire crews entered the unit and did not encounter smoke, but instead were met by two activated sprinkler heads. The sprinklers contained and extinguished a fire. Damage estimate is $10,000, which includes fire and water damage and contents to the unit. The cause of the fire is under investigation. One firefighter was treated and released for a hand laceration.
