Final Schematic Design Meeting for Central Library on December 7

posted

Architects from Meyer, Scherer & Rockcastle and Potter Lawson will present the final schematic design for the new Central Library on Tuesday, December 7 at 7 pm at the Madison Senior Center, 330 West Mifflin St. This is the fourth of four public meetings designed to elicit public feedback on the design for a new library. The final schematic design will next be presented to the Urban Design Commission on December 15. Afterward, the design development phase of the project will revise and expand the design to incorporate all the details and specifications required for construction. Construction is expected to start in Fall of 2011 and be completed in 2013. Architect slideshows and videorecordings of past public meetings and schematic design plans are available on the library's web site at www.madisonpubliclibrary.org/central. The final design will be added to the website shortly after the public meeting on December 7, and the final approved schematic design will be added on December 23.
