1 Person Transported to UW Hospital After House Fire

One person was transported to UW Hospital for 2nd degree burns, after a house fire caused $50,000 damage. The home at 178 Dixon Street is a 2-Flat multi story residential structure. 911 received a call at 12:16 am to report smoke and flames. All occupants were out of the building when firefighters arrived. After Firefighters entered the home and approached the second floor, they encountered thick black smoke banking close to the floor level. Once the home was ventilated of hot smoke and gases, the firefighters quickly extinguished the fire. There was significant smoke and fire damage to the second floor of the structure.
