Ald. Hall Issues Statement Welcoming Event to City
It is with great pride and excitement that I congratulate the Greater Madison Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Madison Sports Commission on securing the CrossFit Games for Madison for 2017-2019. As one of the fittest cities in America, Madison can now take it to the next level and be not just fit-but CrossFit.
As a competitive CrossFit athlete for several years, I was elated when Jamie Patrick of the Madison Sports Commission approached me about Madison putting together a bid for the Games. I was thrilled to be included in the proposal and subsequent site visits, showcasing to CrossFit executives how Madison is perfect fit for the Games. As a past host of the Great Outdoors Games, a longtime Ironman host city, and with out metropolitan eagerness for what's next and our 'Wisconsin Nice,' athletes, vendors, and spectators will be thrilled that CrossFit chose Madison.
As a Madisonian and an athlete, I couldn't be prouder that our vibrant, forward city gets to show off its fitness and recreation credentials plus its large scale athletic event host skills in celebrating the fittest athletes on earth.
