World’s No. 1 Author, James Patterson, in Madison Sunday

The Wisconsin Book Festival will bring James Patterson, the world’s best-selling author, to Overture Center for the Arts’ Capitol Theater this Sunday, October, 7, at 10 a.m. for a free, public event.

Patterson will speak about the first novel in his new youth science adventure series, Max Einstein: The Genius Experiment. It is the only kids' book series officially approved by the Albert Einstein Archives. The heroine is a 12-year-old orphan science genius who is recruited by a mysterious organization to use science to solve the world’s toughest problems.

The event format will include Patterson speaking in conversation with Steve Paulson of Wisconsin Public Radio’s To the Best of Our Knowledge. Patterson will discuss the motivation behind writing Max Einstein, his life in books, his love of reading, his method of writing, and what makes a good story.

The first 500 young readers will receive a free copy of Max Einstein. Attendees will also get exclusive pre-release access to buy Patterson's latest Detective Michael Bennett Thriller, Ambush.

“Bringing the world’s best-selling author to Madison is an event that’s years in the making,” said festival Director Conor Moran. “We’re especially excited to cater this event toward elementary- and middle school-aged kids to make them aware of this new educational series that also piques their interest in science.”

Doors will open at 9 a.m. The event is free and open to the public. Seating will be by general admission. Wisconsin Book Festival members have the opportunity to reserve up to four seats at this event.
