LGBTQ 50+ Alliance
The LGBTQ 50+ Alliance is sponsored by OutReach Community Center and the Madison Senior Center. Its purpose is to create a better quality of life for LGBTQ older adults by building partnerships with senior service providers and providing social opportunities. Our LGBTQ 50+ Alliance Steering Committee meets monthly to discuss programs and events. If you are interested in having a voice, please contact Lynn Currie.
LGBTQ 50+ Alliance is a SAGECollab Partner!
SAGE is a nationwide non-profit agency that advocates for LGBTQ+ elders through activism, resource centers, cultural competency training, and much more.
SAGECollab partners are non-profit groups and organizations that:
- Advocate with and on behalf of LGBTQ+ elders on a local level
- Receive ongoing assistance, training, and leadership development from SAGE and its staff
- Frequently access SAGE's national programs
- Mobilize our national network to action

Cafecito y Caminata

Join us for coffee and tea at 1:00pm, followed by a walk along the paths starting at 1:30pm. Enjoy nature and friendly conversation. Cafecito y Caminata invites us to celebrate LGBTQ+ diversity and build community connections. All ages are welcome and encouraged to attend! Check Facebook to confirm schedule and location
Coffee Meet-Up

“CQ" (curious queers) is a call for all to join the conversation! Members decide topics and provide presentations. Visits to other LGBTQ+ Groups, free community concerts, museums, nature walks, etc. are encouraged.
Gay, Gray & Beyond
2nd & 4th Thursdays, 2:00 - 4:00pm at MSC, 330 W Mifflin St
Gay, Gray & Beyond (GG&B) is a discussion group for those fortunate enough to have arrived, that is, for those who know the obstacles, but also recognize that there have been joys. Those who look beyond the closet. Let’s get together consider our individual selves, our unique strengths and the nature of our ever-changing world.
OutReach Elder Advocate
The OutReach Senior Advocate is Lynn Currie. She coordinates educational trainings and workshops with the community in addition to advocating for LGBTQ+ older adults and their wellness. Lynn works at OutReach Community Center and can also be reached by phone, 608-255-8582.
Quarterly Socials
Approximately every three months we host an event with a meal to bring folks together for fellowship. Often these are intergenerational events. After the meal we enjoy an activity or presentation selected by the LGBTQ 50+ Alliance Steering Committee.
