Cancellation Policy

No Show and Cancellation Policy

In May 2025, the Board of Parks Commissioners approved the Golf Madison Parks Cancellation Policy. The document contains important research and impact data to support the policy.

Tee time changes or cancellations must be made at least 6 hours in advance to avoid a fee. Cancellations made between 6 and 2 hours before the reservation may be charged for full reservation and refunded via gift card. Cancellations within 2 hours of the tee time and all no-shows may be charged the full green fee for each absent golfer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Effective May 30, 2025

1. Why is this policy being implemented?

This policy is being introduced to reduce unused tee times due to no-shows and last-minute cancellations, which block opportunities for other golfers. Each year, 15,000–20,000 rounds go unplayed, limiting public access and costing the program up to $500,000 in missed revenue.

2. What courses does this policy apply to?

This policy applies to all City of Madison Golf Courses:

  • Monona Golf Course
  • Odana Hills Golf Course
  • The Glen Golf Park
  • Yahara Hills Golf Course

3. What are the key changes in the new policy?

  • A credit card is now required to reserve any tee time (public and pass holders).
  • Cancellation deadlines and associated fees are now in effect based on timing.
  • Season pass holders may be charged a $10 booking fee for no-shows or last-minute cancellations.

8. Are there exceptions or a grace period?

We understand emergencies happen. A short grace period will be in place at launch, and staff will review special circumstances on a case-by-case basis.

Weather-related cancellations will be handled on a case-by-case basis, and you will not be charged a fee. Please contact the course directly for assistance.
