Public Test of Election Equipment

Deputy Clerk Jim Verbick tests a ballot tabulator

The public is invited to observe the City of Madison public test of election equipment this Monday, June 9.

Before each election, the Clerk’s Office conducts thorough testing of its DS200 tabulators to verify that votes will be tallied accurately on Election Day.

The public test will begin at 9:00 a.m. at 2713 E. Washington Ave. on Monday, June 9. Public participation contributes to the transparency and integrity of our election process.

After testing each machine, Clerk’s Office personnel secure the ballot box and scanner with tamper-evident seals that contain unique serial numbers. The serial numbers are documented on each polling location’s Inspectors’ Statement. On Election Day, poll workers verify these serial numbers as they open the polls.
