Leaf Collection Delayed Due to Snowstorm for Residents with a November 30, 2025, Set-Out Date
Madison residents with a November 30, 2025 set-out date for leaf collection should anticipate delays in their leaf collection from the Streets Division due to the snowstorm arriving on November 29, 2025.
The Streets Division’s highest priority will be continuing the snowstorm clean-up response following the significant winter storm that will impact our city on November 29.
If weather conditions allow, and the snowstorm response also allows for personnel to be shifted away from those duties and onto leaf pickup duties, we will resume collection for residents that had a November 30 set out date.
How to Get Your Leaves Picked Up in the Snow
If the Streets Division can resume leaf pickup following the November 29, 2025, snowstorm, crews will only collect what they know are leaves.
You may want to bag your leaves into paper lawn and leaf bags, or remove snow from your tarped piles of leaves, and generally maintain your leaves on the terrace in front of your home so they can will be visible if crews are able to return to leaf pickup duties following the snowstorm.
What about residents that had November 9, 2025, and November 16, 2025, set out dates? Will there be an extra pickup?
There is no announcement for an extra leaf collection round.
Following the snowstorm response, the first neighborhoods in line for a leaf pickup will be those with a November 30, 2025, set-out date since they were promised a pickup following that date. Unfortunately, weather complicated the response.
It remains unknown if leaf collection can be extended for another round. It will depend on the weather, which remains unknown.
Drop-off Sites Closed on November 29, 2025, and November 30, 2025, Due to Weather
As previously announced, the drop-off sites will be closed on Saturday, November 29, 2025 and Sunday, November 30, 2025.
