Goodman Pool Youth Attendance Rule

posted July 10, 2025 – 7:22am

Effective Thursday, July 17, to increase safety and improve your pool experience, all youth aged 11-15 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or responsible adult aged 18 years or older, with proof of age. This rule supplements the existing rule that children 10 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Why is this new policy being put in place?
This policy is designed to support a safe and enjoyable pool environment for all guests. We appreciate your partnership in helping make Goodman Pool a fun and welcoming space for everyone.
  2. Who qualifies as a “responsible adult”?
A responsible adult is anyone 18 years or older who can actively supervise the child(ren) they are accompanying. Proof of age will be requested by staff.
  3. Does the adult need to stay at the pool the whole time?
Yes. The adult must stay with the youth at all times while at the pool. This is not a drop-off policy. Youth aged 11–15 will not be admitted or allowed to remain at the pool without an adult present with them.
  4. Can an older sibling aged 16 or 17 accompany children?
No. The supervising adult must be 18 years or older.
  5. How long will this policy be in place?
This policy went into effect on Thursday, July 17, following approval from the Board of Park Commissioners and will remain in place until further notice.
