As those needs are identified the team will assist staff and other volunteers in service delivery to neighborhood gathering place and/or coordinating transportation to the Madison Senior Center.

Edgewood RN Program
For Fall of 2021 MSC and Edgewood College are looking to pair older adult volunteers with students for a series of discussions, zoom (computer) chats, or phone conversations. The topics will expand beyond medical topics to discussions about: nutrition, recreation, and coping with COVID. This is for general well-being, increased socialization, and mental health check-in for BOTH the student and volunteer.
Line Dance Instructor
Line Dancing is a great example of one of MSC’s regular programs that has recently made the move to an online format. Dancers socialize online, practice advancing their skill and improve their mood (have fun!). Contact us to turn your love of line dancing into a great volunteer role!

Multi Lingual Volunteers
Healthy aging education is a vital service that is urgently needed for our non-English speaking neighbors in Madison. MSC is looking to expand programming into communities. If you are a multi lingual person with an interest in instruction, fitness, tech support, or socialization with seniors please contact us. We want to speak with you to see how we can begin offering healthy aging programming in more languages.
Musician
Do you like to perform, but not have the time for a band or long term commitment? We have a number of opportunities for volunteers to play ambiance music for special events throughout the year. We have pianos on site, but welcome other instruments as well.
Hair Stylist
The Madison Senior Center needs a hairstylist to cut the hair of active seniors. We would like to offer free haircuts for people age 55 and older that might not be able to afford or travel far. We are looking for someone once a month for 2–3 hours, between 8:30 am and 4:00 pm. Volunteers could keep any tips they might receive. We prefer a current or retired professional hairstylist.
