Transportation Commission

The organization, purpose, composition, and powers of the Transportation Commission are contained in  Sec. 33.56, Madison General Ordinances.  

The purpose of the Transportation Commission is to decide transportation implementation issues related to transit, parking, pedestrians, bicycles, and motor vehicles as listed in Sec 33.56(5) (a)-(c) of the Madison General Ordinances. The Commission is required to make decisions in a manner that is consistent with the transportation policies and plans recommended by the Transportation Policy and Planning Board and adopted by the Common Council. For more detailed information regarding the Commission, please see the Transportation Commission Member Handbook and Madison General Ordinance 33.56.
