Water Utility Updates
posted April 14, 2014 9:54 AM

FROZEN SERVICE LATERALS ALERT: (Updated 04/14/2014

It is now safe to stop running your water. If you have been running water to keep your service lateral from freezing, the frost line below ground has receded and you can now turn your water off.

Bill Credits:

Customers who were directed by Madison Water Utility to run their water will receive a credit on their next bill for the excess water used and extra sewer charges. We will calculate a customer's average water use from the same period over the last three years (2011, 2012 and 2013) and then credit the account for any water used in 2014 that was above that average. Credits will be issued beginning with the next bill and may extend over more than one billing cycle.

Customers without a billing history for previous years will receive credits based on daily meter reads and usage history from the months immediately preceding notification to run water.

Only customers who were directly notified by Madison Water Utility to run water will receive a credit.

Questions? Contact our billing department at (608) 266-4641.
