City of Madison Closes Non-Essential Services for Tuesday, January 9th
postedPlease be advised that due to the heavy snowfall expected to start tonight and continue through Tuesday, all non-essential in-person city services will be suspended on January 9, 2024. Emergency services, including Madison Police and Fire Departments, will not be affected by the closure. Madison Metro plans to operate regularly scheduled services, with possible delays due to the weather. Remote and online services, such as online permitting, will continue to be offered during this time. Other city facilities, such as libraries, Olbrich Park, and the Clerk's and Treasurer's Offices, will not be open to the public.
The Madison Streets Division will continue snow plowing and salting operations around the clock. Madison Police, Fire, and Streets Division will closely work with Dane County Emergency Management to monitor conditions throughout the storm.
We plan to resume all in-person operations on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, pending any additional weather-related closures.
