  • Plan Commission: The Plan Commission meeting will take place in virtual format on Monday, April 8, 2024, at 5:30 PM. Agenda items include amending Madison General Ordinances to allow Accessory Dwelling Units for properties with up to eight dwelling units and removing owner-occupancy requirements for ADUs, as well as development-related requests in Districts 6, 9, 12, and 18.

  • Learn to Fall Safely - Wednesday, April 10, 2024Learn to fall safely and to get back up without injury. Falls are a leading cause of death for older adults in Wisconsin. We will use thick "crash mats" for practicing. Classes are progressive. Attending all four classes is recommended. Scholarships are available.
  • Strategies to Prevent Basement Flooding - Wednesday, April 10, 2024: Have you ever had water in your basement? Whether it's a recurring issue or has only happened during extreme weather conditions, it can usually be avoided. With some planning, a few rules, and basic landscaping tools, most homeowners can address this problem on their own. Sponsored by MG&E. No registration is required, but you can sign up for an email or text reminder if you like.
  • JustDane 50th Anniversary Celebration - Thursday, April 11, 2024: JustDane is excited to be celebrating 50 years of advocacy in the community and invites you to join the festivities. The evening will begin with live jazz music and hors d'oeuvres, followed by a celebration featuring a presentation from Father Boyle and Homeboys of Homeboy Industries (https://homeboyindustries.org/). Based in Los Angeles, Homeboy Industries is the largest gang rehabilitation and re-entry program in the world. They provide hope and job training for formerly gang involved and previously incarcerated people so they can redirect their lives and become contributing members of society.
  • Prescribed Burn Crew Training - Saturday, April 13, 2024Learn what it means to be part of the Burn Crew! New and current Madison Parks volunteers are invited to participate in this small-group workshop on prescribed burning at Elver Park. This class will include a prescribed burn in the prairie vegetation at the park if the weather and conditions allow.
