Road Closure UPDATED – Valley View and South Point Road Intersection: Starting on Monday, April 22, 2024 Parisi Construction will close the intersection of Valley View and South Point Road to continue progress on the 1000 Oaks project. This full excavation closure is expected to last approximately 6 weeks, with roads.

Boards, Commissions, and Committee Meetings

  • Common Council: The Common Council meeting will take place in hybrid format on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at 6:30 PM. The in-person portion will take place in Room 215 of the Madison Municipal Building at 215 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. Agenda items include welcoming Lord Mayor Talib Ahmed Bensouda and delegation from Madison Sister City Kanifing, the Gambia, the election of Council President and Vice President, removing owner-occupancy requirements for accessory dwelling units, and a resolution affirming unwavering support for survivors of domestic violence and abuse.
  • Board of Public Works: The Board of Public Works meeting will take place in virtual format on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at 4:30 PM. Agenda items include authorizing the Board of Public Works to advertise and receive bids for 2024 playground improvements, awarding a public works contract for the Warner Park Dog Park Lot Resurfacing project in District 12, and authorizing the Board of Public Works to advertise and receive bids for 20 is Plenty.

  • Mad City Ultras - Saturday, April 20, 2024U.S. National Championship 100-Kilometer Road race (10 laps around Lake Wingra) and 50-Kilometer Road race (5 laps around Lake Wingra); and non-competitive relay races of 100-kilometers and 50-kilometers.
  • Earth Day Challenge - Saturday, April 20, 2024: Celebrate Earth Day with your neighbors and friends by volunteering to clean up your local park! Join this community-wide volunteer effort to make a difference. Earth Day Challenge Projects are held throughout the city.
  • Volunteer to help Paint State Street - Sunday, April 21, 2024On Sunday, April 21, people of all ages are invited to volunteer and help a group of local Madison artists - Rahul Kamuth, Taylor McAda, Sharon Bjyrd, and Jessica Gutierrez - paint four original 20-foot circle murals on State Street between Gorham Street and Hawthorne Court. The City is also looking for volunteers to help paint more than 150 whimsical Madison themed stencils designed by another local Madison artist, Maeve Makielski.
