- Common Council: The Common Council meeting will take place on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, in hybrid format at 6:30 PM. Agenda items include an appeal of the Plan Commission action on the conditional use request for 6610-6706 Old Sauk Road in District 19 and approving the Large Item Collection and Electronic Waste Recycling Policy.
- Economic Development Committee: The Economic Development Committee meeting will take place on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, in virtual format at 5:00 PM. Agenda items include adopting the Sustainability Plan update, adopting the Northeast Area Plan, and adopting the West Area Plan.
- In-Person Public Information Meeting (Hill Valley Neighborhood) - Veridian Homes and the City of Madison have scheduled a Neighborhood Meeting to discuss the development plans for the Hill Valley Neighborhood, a 211-acre property located between Pleasant View Road and South High Point Road. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM in person at Blackhawk Church, 9620 Brader Way, Middleton, WI 53562.

- Barre3 at The Glen - Tuesday, July 16, 2024: Join Madison's barre3 and Madison Parks Foundation on fairway #1 at The Glen Golf Park for a heart-pumping, joy-filled workout.
- Movie in the Park (Rennebohm Park) - Wednesday, July 17, 2024: Grab a blanket or lawn chair and join Madison Parks for a free movie in the park!
- Capitol City Band Concert in the Park - Thursday, July 18, 2024: Old-fashioned free concerts by the Capitol City Band with toe-tapping familiar music for all ages and all cultures. Bring a friend, bring your chairs; enjoy the music on a beautiful summer evening; rain or shine!
- Live at The Glen: Vince Sweeney - Friday, July 19, 2024: Madison Parks Foundation is proud to present Live at The Glen! Enjoy live music on the patio at The Glen Golf Park.
- Volunteer at The Glen - Saturday, July 20, 2024: Join Us as a Volunteer at The Glen Golf Park. - West and Northeast Area Plans Submitted for Approval: The City of Madison’s Planning Division has submitted both the West Area Plan and Northeast Area Plan for approval. Both plans are scheduled to be introduced at the Common Council’s meeting on Tuesday, July 16, 2024.
- Last Day to Establish Residency for Fall Partisan Primary is Tuesday, July 16, 2024: Voters who move after today will not be eligible to vote from their new address in August because it takes 28 days to establish residency for voting purposes. They can remain registered at their previous address until after the Primary Election, and then should update their voter registration for the November General Election.
- Updates from the Office of the Independent Monitor and Police Civilian Oversight Board: The Police Civilian Oversight Board (PCOB) is currently seeking nominations from the community to fill multiple vacancies on the Board.
- Marcus Allen, Sr. Awarded Reverend James C. Wright Human Rights Award: The Annual Reverend Wright Human Rights Award goes this year to Reverend Dr. Marcus Allen, Sr. The award will be presented at the Common Council meeting on Tuesday, July 16, 2024.
- Food Scraps Recycling Drop-off at the West Community Market Begins on July 20, 2024: Food scraps recycling drop-off begins at the West Community Market on Saturday, July 20, 2024. Individuals may drop off certain allowable food scraps for free at a designated drop-off booth.
- Overdose Spike Alert: Risk of Drug Overdose Increased in Dane County: Public Health Madison & Dane County is issuing a public health alert due to an increase, or spike, in drug overdoses in our community.
- MPD Chief Barnes Inducted into National Policing Hall of Fame: MADISON, Wis. – Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes has been nationally recognized for his efforts in using research and data in policing.
