Jobs: 

  • Competitive job announcement for the position of Independent Police Monitor in the Office of the Independent Police Monitor.
  • Absentee Voting Clerk in the City of Madison Clerk's Office. The current recruitment is to fill at least 26 positions. Weekday, evening, and weekend shifts are available for 4 to 20 hours per week. 
  • We are also hiring more election officials (the folks who staff the polling places on Election Day). Those who are Spanish bilingual may receive an additional stipend ($1) on top of the typical pay rate of $14.01

Transportation Policy and Planning Board

The Transportation Policy and Planning Board will meet virtually on Monday, June 6, at 5 pm. Items on their agenda include the Metro Network Redesign. Please note that the Metro Network Redesign item will be for Board deliberation and action only. No public comment will be taken. The item was adjourned after May 31 Public Hearing.

Town of Madison Public Information Meeting

The next in-person public information meeting involving the Town of Madison Attachment is scheduled for 6:00 p.m., June 9, 2022, at the Penn Park shelter. The meeting will have interpreters in Spanish. There will be free food and childcare will be provided. This is the fourth public information meeting to help Town of Madison residents understand all of the changes they will see when they become part of the City of Madison later this year. The Common Council will meet virtually at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, June 7. Items on the agenda include the Metro Network Redesign.

Sycamore Avenue drop-off

The deadline to submit your suggestions to name the trash and recycling compactors at our Sycamore Avenue drop-off site is June 7. Send your naming suggestions to  dropoff@cityofmadison.com. Read more here.

Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center

Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a free community celebration on Saturday, July 23, from 6:30 pm-9:45 pm at its William T. Evjue Rooftop Gardens. The event will feature local and regional bands, and dance performances, and conclude with a spectacular drone show over Lake Monona. More details here.
