Back to School! Metro Routes

Madison Metropolitan School contracts Metro to transport High School students. Metro has released the student’s routes, labeled with numbers instead of letters. This PDF contains the Student's Metro routes for all the high schools; use Ctrl-F to search the file.Another way to find route details is using Metro's Plan your trip application.

Going directly to Google Maps from your browser or cell phone is the easiest path (in my opinion). The key is to plan your route using the "Arrive By" function. Below I am including screenshots taken from Google Maps using an iPhone.I tested multiple routes using "Arrive by" 8:00 AM on September 19, 2023. If you use today's date, the app will suggest regular routes (school is not in session). Except for Capital High, the buses arrive at school minutes before 8 AM. Therefore, I use an arrival time of 8 AM to ensure the student routes are suggested instead of regular Metro routes.

Planning a Trip

Using future dates, when schools are in session. In this example, I am using "Arrive by" 8:00 AM on September 19, 2023
 

1-Open the Google App & 2-Enter the location (I used Memorial High School)

3- Click on the Directions button & select the bus icon (below the location)
4- Click on Arrive By
5-Select a future date (during the school year)
6-Select 8:00 AM
7-School route 62 is displayed
