Neighborhood Meeting tonight (9/24/2025) at Hawthorne Elementary LMC Canceled - Now office hours

Good Afternoon Everyone,

The Hawthorne Neighborhood Association already sent an email notice, but I also wanted to share to the broader District list that the Neighborhood Meeting for potential re-development of 3555 E. Washington Ave that was scheduled for tonight (9/24/2025) from 7pm - 8:30pm at Hawthorne Elementary LMC is canceled because the project is no longer moving forward at all. 

District postcards for this project have already been delivered to folks in the surrounding neighborhoods announcing the date, time, and location of this meeting.

Because postcards were already delivered, I will be at the school LMC tonight for the duration of the intended meeting, so that nobody shows up to an empty room and will treat that time as open office hours.

I reached out to the Common Council office to see if there are any best practices for how to handle this situation (where cancelation of a project occurs after postcards have already been sent), and this seems to be a pretty unique situation. I apologize for any inconvenience this is causing!
