Snow Emergency Canceled

posted

The City of Madison has cancelled the snow emergency for this evening, February 19, 2020 into the early morning hours of February 20, 2020.

However, for those of you in the Snow Emergency Zone, while you don't need to do alternate street parking tonight, you do need to pay heed to daytime restrictions that apply year around.  Check the signs on your street.  If the sign says don't park during a particularl 4-hour period, please abide by that restriction so plows can plow clear to the curb.

If you ignore those signs, you will likely be ticketed and may be towed.  And, if that happens, I won't be able to help you.  Sorry.

Alternate side parking restrictions will be in effect for residents outside of the Snow Emergency Zone. Overnight alternate side parking rules are enforced outside of the snow emergency zone every year from November 15 to March 15 regardless of weather conditions. Vehicles found in violation of alternate side parking restrictions can be ticketed and towed.

A map of the Snow Emergency Zone can be found on the City of Madison winter website, www.cityofmadison.com/winter.  Additional information about winter in Madison can also be found on this site, such as more information about alternate side parking, tips on how to use salt correctly, and locations for free sand.  Winter parking information can also be found by calling 608-261-9111.

I'll have a regular D13 update posted soon...there's more going on than snow removal, as important as that is.

Cheers.
