Just got word from the Communications Director of Access Health that they are not out of masks at either the Erdman Clinic or the Wingra Clinic on Park St and in fact have an adequate supply at this time.

Stay healthy!

Hi Alder Evers,

Apropos your blog about giving N95 masks to health workers and first-responders...

I donated 20 N95 masks to Dane County Emergency Management that I had purchased in years past and which were intended to protect against dust from sanding, grinding, etc. But I was concerned whether these masks were going to be effective because they were not rated as "surgical N95 masks." I sent an email to NIOSH asking about the equivalence of N95 and surgical N95 masks. Somewhat to my surprise I got a reply three days later. The email (which was signed "NIOSH") was rather technical but the answer was yes, all N95 masks are fine to use to protect against Covid19. You might want to comment in your blog that _all_ N95 masks are useful and encourage woodworkers and such to look at their dust masks as a valued community resource.

From a local MD.

There you have it. If you have dust masks used in painting projects, demolition, wood-working, anything of the like, these are potentially life-saving PPE for health-care workers and first responders.

Julie P. from Bay Creek just sent me a note that Access Health on S. Park is all out of masks.

Hoarding is not cool. If you have N-95 masks, turn them over to those on the frontlines. Homemade masks, scarves and bandanas are what we civilians should be wearing.

Take a picture of yourself wearing your homemade mask or bandana and post it on social media with the hashtag #Masks4All.

Be smart. Be safe. Be kind.
