COVID-19 Update
postedHi Everyone.
A few short updates, a couple Covid-related and one not.
First, Dane County Exec Joe Parisi announced that municipalities within the County will be able to allow for delays in property tax payments to October 1st, 2020. In other words, if you're on the installment plan, you can delay your next payment without incurring fees and interest penalty.
Second, yesterday was a beautiful day to be outside. However, I was surprised how many folks hanging out at Wingra Park who were not observing social distancing. These were mainly young people, not in family clusters. None of them were wearing masks.
If you have young people in your household, high school and college age, please remind them we are still under a Safer At Home order. Playing frisbee in the park is not how we keep each other safe.
Speaking of masks, the D13 Mask Brigade keeps delivering masks to my doorstep. Thanks to those of you who answered the call. I've found it helpful during tough times to get my attention off myself and onto others. I'm very impressed with what you are all doing to help each other.
Lastly, non-Covid related, did you know it's now possible to recycle food scraps at all three of the City's Street Division drop-off sites? If you don't have a way to compost in your backyard, you can still participate in reducing the waste stream by taking those food scraps to a drop-off site. It might only make sense if the drive is convenient. But in case you're interested, you can find out more by clicking here.
That's all for now.
Be safe. Be well. Be kind.
