Arboretum Dr. Petition, Return Those Ballots, August Moving Days
postedHi Everyone,
Arboretum Drive
I keep hearing from you about Arboretum Dr. Here's a link to a petition to keep the road closed until we get past the pandemic.
As it stands now, the road is scheduled to reopen tomorrow. Apparently, the UW promised the Town of Madison that the closure would be temporary, with the reopening thought to be part of the University's overall plan to gradually reopen its facilities. UW has committed to new pavement markings and a reduced speed limit to improve pedestrian and bicycle safety.
If the road does reopen, remember to follow the rules of the road. Ride in single file and let vehicles pass.
Return Those Ballots
Of the 68,592 absentee ballots the City of Madison Clerk's Office has mailed to voters for the Partisan Primary, 20,856 have been returned to be counted.
The Clerk's Office strongly encourages absentee voters to mail back their absentee ballots as soon as possible.
August Moving Days: Appliances, Furniture, and Other Large Items
Hippie Christmas is here again. Though in this time of Covid, I strongly suggest you resist any urge to score some choice item from someone's discards.
For those of you in the district who are moving, particularly those vacating student housing near Regent St., please be mindful of the City's rules and procedures regarding the disposal of large items like TVs and electronics.
I'll have some big picture thoughts to share soon about looking foward.
Take care and stay safe.
