Vilas Park Master Plan, plus early trash & recycling pick-up on Thurs

Vilas Park Master Plan

You are invited to the fourth (and final) Community Input Meeting for the Vilas Park Master Plan tomorrow Thursday, February 4 at 6 PM.  You may register for the meeting at https://tinyurl.com/VilasPark4

The final Master Plan will be presented and discussed, including recommendations for Vilas Park Drive.

If you would like to provide input on the meeting but are unable to attend in person, please send your comments to VilasMasterPlan@cityofmadison.com.

There is much to like about the Master Plan recommendations, but several areas of concern remain, including changes to the park entrance, consolidation of the three playgrounds, and loss of greenspace for parking to name a few.  A Master Plan is not set in stone, but it does create momentum around proposed changes. Please show up to make sure your voices are heard.

Trash, Recycling Early Collection

Trash, recycling, and large item collections by the Streets Division will begin at 6:00am on Thursday, February 4, 2021.

You must have your carts and items out for pickup before 6:00am. Items set out after 6:00am may not be picked up.

When you set your collection carts and/or large items out, do not place them in the street. Use your driveway apron or a cleared area of your terrace if possible. Items and collection carts in the street gutter become obstructions for snow plowing equipment.

Streets Division crews are starting collections early due to the timing and severity of snowstorm that is forecast to hit Madison.
