Glenway Woods Planning Process

Glenway Woods

The City of Madison Parks Division is developing a Management and Sustainability Plan for Glenway Woods. The planning process will review existing park uses and amenities as well as identify future improvements.

As part of the planning process for the Glenway Woods Management and Sustainability Plan, the Madison Parks Division applied for planning assistance from the National Park Service. The National Park Service provides community assistance to external partners for locally-led outdoor recreation and conservation projects through the Rivers, Trails, and Conservation Assistance (RTCA) program. Michael Mencarini, a Community Planner with the Midwest RTCA Team, will serve as an advisor to the Madison Parks Division for the next year as part of this project.

Glenway Woods consists of about 10 acres of land and does not currently have a park classification.

The planning process will take about one year, beginning in July of 2022. Details on the first opportunity for public input can be found below.
