In-Person Absentee Voting

In-person absentee voting began today, Tuesday, Mar. 21, at several locations throughout the City of Madison.

What will you need to bring with you if you’re voting absentee in person?

• An acceptable photo ID for voting in Wisconsin.
• If you need to register for the first time or update your registration because of a move or name change, you will need to bring a proof of residence document with you, too.

Lake Monona Waterfront Challenge: Your Input is Needed!

The Master Plan Submissions Are In!

It's a big thrill to learn more about the exciting ideas included in all three submissions for The Lake Monona Waterfront Challenge. Madison Parks now needs your input to help us re-imagine possibilities for the Lake Monona Waterfront.

Three professional design teams have prepared master plan options for the Lake Monona Waterfront planning initiative. The project scope includes Law Park, the John Nolen Drive causeway and northern portion of Olin Park. The goal is an adopted master plan to guide future waterfront projects along the shore of Lake Monona, and we need your thoughts on the proposed options. The project website includes detailed information on the plans, including brief video presentations by each team.

After reviewing the project website master plan materials, please complete the online survey.

Set-Out Dates for Brush Collection Now Available

The Streets Division’s brush collection for 2023 will get underway in April. All residents will have five curbside collection opportunities this year.

You can learn the exact dates when you should set brush out for pickup on the Streets Division’s website, www.cityofmadison.com/brushcollection.

Financial Literacy Series

The City of Madison, in partnership with Movin’ Out, invite South Madison residents to participate in Movin’ Out’s financial wellness series! This six-session financial literacy program covers a range of topics to provide a solid understanding of the fundamentals of personal finance. In between sessions, interested participants can work with Movin’ Out’s counseling staff on their own financial goals toward homeownership.

The six sessions are virtual and must be registered for individually. The series is intended to be attended in full to build on financial knowledge, as such participants are encouraged to attend all six sessions. Referendum on Staggered Two-year Alder Terms on Spring 2023 Ballot

The 2023 Spring Election will take place on Tuesday, April 4. With two weeks left until the General Election, several offices and referenda will be on the ballot, including but not limited to the race for Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice, Madison Alder Districts, and the vote for Madison Mayor. Voters will also see six referendum questions, among them an item in which Madison voters will be asked to weigh in on whether to stagger alder terms. Click here for more information.

It's a critically important elsction this spring. It seems like every election is the most important election ever, but those are the times in which we live. 

In any case, let's everyone vote. If you have eliglble young people in your home or in your sphere of influence, please make sure they vote as well.
