4:30 pm - Sustainable Madison Committee: 1. Sustainable Purchasing Policies Working Group; 2. Update: RESJI / Equity Lens for 100% Renewable Energy Plan; 3. Possible LaFollette Capstone project

5:00 pm - Open Studio with Bubbler Artist-in-Residence: Lydia & Riley: Visit the Bubbler and immerse yourself in explorations and activities with The Office of Oceanic Feeling. Come view and contribute to an ongoing project mapping participants' questions and discoveries as they migrate from the walls to a tabletop diorama.

6:00 pm - Starting a cooperative business: Thinking of starting a business Interested in a business model that uplifts your community? Worker cooperatives create meaningful change for communities affected by inequality. Worker co-ops are designed to improve low-wage jobs and build wealth in communities.

6:30 pm - Common Council: 1. Recognizing May 2019 as Asian-American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month; 11. Approving plans and specifications and authorizing the Board of Public Works to advertise and receive bids for Sycamore Ave. Public Works Maintenance Facility-Office Remodel Project

6:30 pm - No Place Like Home: No Place Like Home is a short documentary examining youth homelessness in Madison. The film primarily follows Deitz's friend Jivonte Davis, who was homeless while they were classmates together at Madison East High School.

7:30 am - Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District Customer and Community Meeting II: The upcoming meeting will be used to develop realistic objectives regarding: infiltration and inflow; improved coordination of industrial users; and communication and outreach efforts related to community infrastructure needs and pollution prevention. 

5:30 pm - Community Services Committee: 2. By Youth For Youth 2019 Report; 3. Youth Employment Programming Update 4. Adult Employment Programming Update 5. Accepting the Community Development Division (CDD) City of Madison Neighborhood Center Funding Process Policy Paper" and "School-Aged Child and Youth Development Policy Paper"

6:30 pm - Researching the Story of Your Home: Every building in Madison has a story--it's just a matter of knowing where to look for information. This workshop + tour will walk you through online and print resources that can help you discover the history of where you live.

12:45 pm - Dane County Landfill Tour: Join Zero Waste Madison as Abdulla Younes takes us an hour-long tour of the Dane County Landfill. Abdulla will discuss all aspects of the landfill and answer questions along the way. Participants will leave with a deeper knowledge of our relationship with waste and landfills and specific knowledge of Madison's waste systems.

5:30 pm - MADISON POLICE DEPARTMENT POLICY & PROCEDURE REVIEW AD HOC COMMITTEE: 1. Discussion with Carrie Rothbud regarding the MPD Ad Hoc Committee's final report to the Common Council; 4. Review and discussion of recommendations submitted by Rep. Chris Taylor; 7. Review and discussion of OIR's recommendation number 146 found in OIR's Madison Police Department Policy & Procedure Review "Madison should enhance its civilian oversight by establishing an independent police auditor's office reporting to a civilian police review body."

8:00 pm - East Side High School Black Music Ensemble: Led by Wilder Deitz, The East High Black Music Ensemble is a group dedicated to celebrating historically black music; jazz. hip-hop, funk, blues etc. As well as learning about the history of black music around the world.

6:00 am - Brat Fest: Since 1983, the World's Largest Brat Fest has sold more than 3.8 million brats to help raise almost $1.9 million to benefit 100+ local charities. Brat Fest brings the community together each Memorial Day weekend--rain or shine--for 3 days of free music, fantastic food and family-friendly fun to help kick off the start of summer in the heart of downtown Madison, Wisconsin.

6:30 pm - Food Cart Cinema- Family Night at Bridge Road: We're kickin' off the season and food cart cinema series with a family movie night at Bridge Road park. Bring your loved ones, blankets, and some money for a yummy dinner while you lay back and relax and enjoy the show.

4:00 am - Free Disc Golf Day: Madison Parks and Dane County Parks bring you FREE DISC GOLF DAY! Play all day with no permit required on Saturday, May 25! Take advantage and try the game at Elver or Hiestand disc golf courses - open 4am to 10pm. 

10:00 am - Splash Parks - Opening Day: Cool off this summer with a visit to a splash park! Splash parks are always free to use and typically open daily through the Monday of Labor Day weekend. New extended hours for 2019: 10:00am to 8:00pm!

1:00 pm - Paper Construction & Collage Exploration: Minerals, Liquids, and Mimicry: In this workshop, simple methods of paper construction, drawing, and collage will be used to engage with and wonder at our inland surroundings and its connection to the geologic record and the history of the sea.
