Owen Park Wildlife Management Meeting Oct. 2

posted

The City of Madison Parks Division will be conducting wildlife management this winter to reduce numbers of deer and turkey in Owen Conservation Park. This management is in accordance with Parks Wildlife Management Plan. Impacts to visitor use during management activities will be minimal, and public safety will be paramount. Representatives from Wisconsin DNR and US Fish and Wildlife Service will also be presenting.

Parks staff will be holding an informational meeting for neighbors who live adjacent to the park, and others in the surrounding neighborhoods who may be interested in learning more about plans to reduce the local deer and turkey populations. The meeting will be held on Monday, October 2, 2017 from 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM in the library at John Muir Elementary School, 6602 Inner Drive.  Please note that the library can accommodate about 70 people.

We ask that those interested in attending call the Madison Parks main office at 266-4711, or email parks@cityofmadison.com, so we can know how many people to expect.
