Neighborhood Meeting: East Wilson Street and East Doty Street Reconstruction

posted

The City of Madison is planning the reconstruction of East Wilson Street from Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard to South Franklin Street and East Doty Street from Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard to King Street in 2024.

The project improvements include replacement of existing pavement and pavement base, curb and gutter, sanitary sewer main and laterals, storm sewer, water main, and street lights. Damaged sections of sidewalk will also be replaced or as needed to install sewer service laterals. Additional street trees will be planted. Also, a new two-way cycle track bike facility will be installed along East Wilson Street as per a recent Wilson Street corridor study. In 2020, following several public meetings, the City adopted the corridor study recommendations to guide future street construction projects.

The tentative construction schedule is April 29, 2024 to October 25, 2024.

A virtual neighborhood meeting will be held on Thursday, December 7 at 6:00 p.m. to gather community input. Join the meeting virtually using your computer, smartphone or tablet, or you can listen in via telephone. You will receive login information after registering.
