Family definition, TOD including historic districts meeting 1/12, events and announcements

posted

Hello neighbors,

I sincerely hope you all are having a good start to 2023!

I have been hearing from a lot of you regarding the proposed changes to the family definition for zoning purposes. Alder Evers and I are working together to determine what next steps will best serve the needs of our neighbors. In the meantime, staff have agreed to delay the consideration of the proposal by the Plan Commission until June, and provide additional information during this time period. Please know that your voices are being heard, and your perspectives seriously considered. One proposal that has been floated is the idea of licensing landlords; state statutes prevent the City from enacting such an approach. As always, I appreciate hearing from each and every one of you who has contacted me!

In regards to the addition of the historic districts to the Transit-Oriented Development (TOD)-Overlay proposal, there will be a public information meeting on January 12 at 6pm. This meeting, which was originally proposed to be hybrid, will only be held virtually. Please register in advance.
