Summer’s clock is still ticking and winding down and Fall (without the heat and humidity) will soon be in the air.
- For those who want to get in a few laps in the Goodman pool, August 24th (weather permitting) is the last day. There is a budding Olympian out there.
- Move in, move out near the campus periphery reached its fever pitch during the last few days and is mostly completed. Kudos to Streets Division.
- Projects (road closures) with detours or lane reductions that started during the spring are nearly completed or completed. Ribbon cutting ceremonies and barricade removals are on the menu for the Wilson Street Corridor on August 20th at 9 AM.
- Water main flushing on streets included in the South of Old Sauk and west of Bear Claw Way area will take place this week. Note: Flushing may temporarily cause discolored water or low-pressure flow.

Saturday, August 23: Transitioning to Autumn ~ Join Master Naturalist Sean Gere to explore easy nature trails on this free family friendly walk. Enjoy learning about the seasonal changes when wildflowers, trees and animals are enjoying the bounty of summer and start preparing for autumn.
Although opportunities to engage in summertime events and activities are dwindling, begin to get excited about the many fall activities and possibilities that await you (minus the heat and humidity). In the meantime, do consider:
- Monday Mornings at The Glen, Monday, August 18, 2025 (This event occurs on multiple dates): Enjoy The Glen for a stroll, nature, workout or leashed dog walk from sunrise to 8:00 am. Tee times resume at hole #1 at 8:00am. Visitors should be alert for golf balls and golfers while exiting the course.
- Live @ Lake Vista: Mark Croft Duo (Singer Songwriter), Wednesday, August 20: Mark Croft is a multi-award-winning singer/songwriter and acoustic guitarist who has always been unafraid to break the genre barriers. Croft takes inspiration from a variety of musical styles and blends them into his own Roots, Rock & Americana-based approach to songwriting, infusing soulful performances with infectious rhythms and unforgettable melodies.
- Cyclocross Practice Night, Wednesday, August 20: In partnership with CORP (Capital Off Road Pathfinders), we offer practice courses in select parks for one designated evening in the late summer and early fall.
Live at The Glen | Tom Innis ~ Acoustic Guitar, Friday, August 22: Looking for a night that will take you back to the good ole’ days? Then come out, sit back, and relax as Tom Innis (link is external) brings you a new take on Rock, Blues, and Americana classics.
Volunteer at The Glen, Saturday, August 23 (This event occurs on multiple dates): Every month, we offer chances for people to volunteer at The Glen Golf.
