Boards, Commissions, and Committee Meetings

  • Finance Committee: The Finance Committee meeting will take place on Monday, August 25, at 4:30 p.m. in virtual format. Agenda items include accepting the Economic Development Division’s “2025 Small Business Assistance Policy Paper” as the foundation for structuring and conducting a Request for Proposals (RFP) process, an overview of the 2026 Operating Budget Requests and the Budget Process, and a discussion on the format for the 2026 Budget Deliberation Meeting.
  • Plan Commission: The Plan Commission meeting will take place on Monday, August 25, at 5:30 p.m. in virtual format. Agenda items include staff updates on the Southwest and Southeast Area Plans, as well as development-related requests in Districts 4 and 12.

  • Monday Mornings at The Glen, Monday, August 25Enjoy The Glen for a stroll, nature, workout or leashed dog walk from sunrise to 8:00 am. Tee times resume at hole #1 at 8:00am. Visitors should be alert for golf balls and golfers while exiting the course.
  • Learn to Kayak, Monday, August 25Learn to Kayak with Madison Boats! Register online for this free class offered at Marshall Park. All ages are welcome! Anyone under 18 must have a guardian present and anyone under the age of 7 must have their guardian in the kayak.
  • Learn & Ride, Tuesday, August 26 (Junction Road Park & Ride and Baldwin Station)Madison Metro is hosting two Ride & Learn events.  Members of the community can learn about the accessibility features of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) System, set up a Fast Fare account, learn how to board and plan a trip.  No registration is needed.  Tip: If you want to take your time and tour the bus while not in service, the Junction Road event may be a better choice for you.

  • Cyclocross Practice Night, Wednesday, August 27In partnership with CORP (Capital Off Road Pathfinders), we offer practice cyclocross courses in select parks for one designated evening in the late summer and early fall.
  • Dane Dances featuring (V-Funk / Montage), ends Friday, August 29: Dane Dances is a free, family-friendly event held every Friday evening in August on the beautiful Monona Terrace rooftop. The much-anticipated summer music series promotes inclusivity for all ages and is a great way to get down and dance with your friends, family, or coworkers.
  • Mobile Vaccination Clinic - Hawthorne Elementary School, Saturday, August 30All vaccines are free for eligible individuals. Children six months and older who lack insurance, are under 19, and are either Alaskan Native or American Indian, as well as those with BadgerCare or most other types of insurance, can receive vaccinations at no cost.
