Residents & Voucher Holders
Public Housing, Multifamily Housing, and Section 8 voucher programs provide decent and safe affordable housing for eligible families with low-incomes, including the elderly and persons with disabilities.
Public Housing Residents
Residents of Public Housing live in developments owned and managed by the CDA. Rent is calculated at an affordable percentage based on the income in your household. CDA Public Housing also provides resident services through connections to support services and community programs. CDA maintains and repairs the property, taking appropriate measures to promote health and safety.
Parkside and Karabis Apartments
CDA’s Multifamily Housing provides project-based rental subsidy to residents who live at Parkside Apartments, Parkside Townhomes, and Karabis Apartments. The CDA owns and manages these properties, and the housing program has similar program requirements as the Public Housing program.
Housing Choice Voucher Holders
Voucher Holders are participants in the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program, also referred to as Section 8. Rent is calculated at an affordable percentage based on the income in your household. Voucher Holders have the freedom to choose their own housing in the private rental market, provided it meets program requirements. CDA directly pays a portion of your rent to the landlord, and you will pay the remaining amount.
