Meet Firefighter/EMT Kenny Vasquez

Where are you stationed?
Fire Station 10 (Troy Drive) on the 'C' shift.

Tell us something about your territory that makes it unique or special.
Station 10 has the Mallards stadium right down the street from our station and has busy traffic throughout the day and night. We also cover the Dane County Regional Airport and Madison Area Technical College.

Have you always wanted to be a firefighter? 
Yes, ever since coming out of high school, I wanted to have a career in firefighting.

What has been one of the most rewarding experiences of your career so far?
Going on a structure fire call and seeing all engines, trucks, and ambulances all working together on scene.

How do you see your role with the MFD contributing positively to the Madison community?
Going to elementary schools with my fire crew and spreading awareness of what firefighters do and what to do during a fire.

Is there anything else you'd like to share about yourself?
One fun fact about me is my fiancée is a paramedic, and we can relate on the calls we go on.
