Stained Rags; Odor Investigation

The homeowners were staining trim and had put the rags in the garbage. At some point, they started to heat up, causing a odor with some smoke. The owner was able to catch it and bring the rags outside before they ignited. Ladder 7 advised him to separate the rags and dispose of them in a metal/non-combustible waste can.
