Vehicle Fire Extinguished On West Side

Engine 9 responded to a reported vehicle fire Wednesday morning. Upon arrival, firefighters saw a four-door sedan with heavy smoke coming from the engine compartment area. Some fire was visible from underneath the vehicle, and E9 crew extinguished the fire. The driver stated she was at the stop light and noticed smoke coming from her glove compartment area. She pulled through the intersection and pulled over. A city worker informed her that her car was on fire, and she exited the vehicle to wait for the Fire Department.
