Incident Details
Occupants at an Oak Creek Trail duplex were drying a large load of laundry when they began to smell smoke from upstairs. When they went down to the basement to see what was wrong, they found flames coming from the “bottom and sides” of the dryer.
Smoke was banked to the floor at the entryway when firefighters arrived. Ladder Company 7 went downstairs and found the fire contained to the clothes in the dryer and to the dryer itself. They were able to extinguish the fire using their water extinguisher.
Firefighters ventilated the home, and nobody was displaced by the fire.
