Engine Co. 6 responded to 3208 Churchill Drive for a passenger vehicle fire with smoke and flames visible, according to witnesses.
Upon arrival, Engine 6 found a four-door sedan with the engine compartment fully engulfed in flames, with the hood melted away and the windshield fractured and open. Firefighters performed direct fire attack to put out the fire.
The owner of the vehicle was on scene and explained to firefighters that the battery of the vehicle had died. A friend provided a jump-start, and they let the car warm up in the street as they went inside. After some time, they looked out the window and found the vehicle on fire.
