Save the Date: Eastside Alders Meet & Greet to Foster Community Connections and Collaboration

posted
Madison, WI - May 25, 2023 - Eastside residents are cordially invited to join Alders representing Districts 3, 15, 16, and 17 for an engaging and interactive evening at the Eastside Alders Meet & Greet. The event will take place on Friday, May 26th, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at La Taguara, located at 3010 Crossroads Drive, Madison, WI 53718. Appetizers will be provided.

The Eastside Alders Meet & Greet aims to create an inclusive environment where residents can connect with their elected representatives and discuss matters of importance to the community. This event offers an opportunity for stimulating conversations, fostering meaningful connections, and brainstorming innovative solutions to enhance local services and address community concerns.

Common Council President Jael Currie expressed her anticipation for the event, stating, "I'm looking forward to hearing about the shared and unique experiences of residents in a relaxed setting where they can engage not just with their alder but alders who represent the east side."
Derek Field, District 3 Alder, emphasized the importance of creating low-barrier opportunities for community engagement, saying, "Not everybody is comfortable appearing at official City meetings to approach their local officials - and that's okay. I'm excited to meet and hear from fellow East Side neighbors in a casual, low-barrier setting where we can connect and talk about what matters to them."

Alder Sabrina Madison, newly-elected and eager to contribute to the community, stated, "As your newly-elected alder, I am excited to hit the ground running and get to work on the priorities that matter most to our community. I firmly believe that in order to make meaningful progress, we need to work together as a team and listen to the voices of all our constituents. That's why I am thrilled to invite you to our Eastside Alders Meet & Greet event."

Attendees at the Eastside Alders Meet & Greet can expect an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere, where they can share their thoughts, concerns, and ideas for the betterment of Madison. By fostering collaboration and open dialogue, the event aims to build a stronger, more vibrant community that all residents can be proud to call home.
