Street Closure For Construction — Hammersley Rd

Starting on Monday, April 1st at 7:00 am, Capitol Underground will begin phase 2 of the Hammersley Rd project, from Gilbert Rd to the W Beltline Frontage Rd, to replace the underground utilities, reconstruct the roadway, and construct a multi-use path.
Hammersley Rd will remain closed to thru traffic at the project limits, with local access for residents maintained. The contractor will begin construction on the section of Hammersley Rd between Reetz and the W Beltline Frontage Rd, and will have this section completed by the end of June so that it can reopen. The remainder of the project west of Reetz Rd, will be completed by the end of October.
The Southwest Path crossing in the area will be impacted by this closure. Signs along the route will help detour path users to Reetz Rd, Freeport Rd and the Verona Frontage Rd to avoid construction. Metro buses will detour from this section of Hammersley Rd as well.
