Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway has appointed Chad Ruppel as the City of Madison Community Development Authority’s next Housing Director. Ruppel currently serves as the Director of the Program Support Division in the Office of Housing Voucher Programs at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). He’s held several positions at HUD since 2004. Ruppel holds master’s degrees in Urban Planning and Public Affairs from UW-Madison.
“I am pleased to name Chad Ruppel as Madison’s CDA Housing Director. Chad brings decades of experience working in federal affordable housing programs at a national level, and a deep commitment to providing quality affordable housing to those who need it,” said Mayor Rhodes-Conway. “I look forward to working with Chad to continue the CDA’s vision providing safe, affordable and welcoming homes here in Madison.”
Ruppel will join the City on June 23rd. Linette Rhodes, a manager in Madison’s Community Development Division, will continue to serve as Acting Director until then. The Mayor extended her thanks to Acting Director Rhodes, saying “Linette has done a great job managing the CDA while we conducted a national search for the next Director. I particularly appreciate her work to build connections between the CDA and the Community Development Division to make our work on housing more efficient and effective.”
