When Plans Come Together: District 19 Alder Guides Residents through the Developments of the Odana Rd. Corridor

posted

Join District 19 Alder John P. Guequierre for a virtual informative session on Tuesday, October 21, from 6 to 8 PM, where we will explore the series of actions that have transformed the Odana Rd corridor.

Our Focus: West Towne to Westgate and Mineral Point to Beltline

During this meeting, we will discuss multiple developments spanning from West Towne to Westgate and from Mineral Point to the Beltline, including a small portion of Schroeder Rd. These developments focus on improving connectivity and providing additional parks, open spaces, and the necessary infrastructure to support residential growth. Over 2,900 housing units have already been built, are currently under construction, or are in the planning phase. “News media naturally focus on one project at a time,” says Alder John P. Guequierre. “It’s when we look at a span of years that we see how our policies are dramatically accelerating housing development.”

This session will feature an in-depth presentation from the planning staff. We will also share updates on upcoming projects, community initiatives, and other relevant news. “Through various City initiatives and new private sector investment, this is becoming one of the most rapidly transforming parts of Madison featuring several new residential and mixed-use developments," says Kevin Firchow, Principal Planner, Development Review.
