Packers Avenue Closure for Railroad Crossing Replacement Begins October 27

posted

Starting at 6:00am on Monday, October 27, Packers Avenue (STH 113) will be closed to all traffic at the railroad tracks just north of International Lane to allow CPKC Railroad to replace the deteriorating railroad crossing.

The closure is expected to remain in place for approximately four days, with reopening anticipated by 5:00pm on Thursday, October 30. The schedule is subject to change depending on construction progress and weather conditions, particularly rain.

Due to the nature of the railroad work, no vehicle traffic will be permitted through the construction zone. A pedestrian route will be maintained on the west side of Packers Avenue.

A signed detour will direct motorists to use North Sherman Avenue and Aberg Avenue. Access to Dane County Regional Airport will remain available via Darwin Road from the north and International Lane from the south.
