Welcome to MPD: Two officers begin Accelerated Academy
Madison, Wis. – Another Accelerated Academy is underway at the Madison Police Department.
Two officers were sworn-in early Wednesday morning by the Police and Fire Commission.
MPD’s Accelerated Academy is designed for officers who have previous law enforcement experience. For the next two months, they will learn about MPD’s standard operating procedures and how to best serve the Madison community. Each officer is expected to begin field training in early 2026.
“Madison is a special city to serve. We’re excited for our newest officers to become caretakers of this community,” said Madison Police Captain Stephanie Drescher, who oversees the department’s training team.
This is the Madison Police Department’s second Accelerated Academy for 2025. In May, three additional officers were sworn-in to the program.
