Meet Division Chief David Bridges

What is your role at MFD?

I'm Division Chief of Special Events. I'm in charge of staffing special events such as athletic events, concerts, and community events for MFD. 

What was the process of getting to this point in your career?

I started out as a Firefighter, then an Apparatus Engineer. I moved on to Chief's Aide, Lieutenant, Training Officer, and now Division Chief.

What's a moment that reminded you why you chose this career?  

Seeing people have fun makes it all worth it.

What do you enjoy doing when you're off duty?  

I enjoy traveling and spending time with my wife and children.

Is there a moment in your career you're especially proud of?  

Every promotion is something to be proud of. It's a marathon, not a sprint.

What are you most grateful for in your career?    

This career has allowed me to take care of my family and I'm able to help with my children's dreams.
