Damage from Car Wash Fire Contained in Equipment Closet

Firefighters responded to 699 S. Gammon Road for black smoke reported at a gas station car wash.
Medic 2 arrived on scene two minutes after dispatch and confirmed black smoke coming from the open garage door. Engine Co. 7 and Medic 2 advanced a hose line as Ladder 7 searched for the location of the fire. The fire was found in the equipment closet for the car wash, and Ladder 7 extinguished it with a water can extinguisher.
Nobody was inside the building at the time of the fire.
Firefighters shut down electrical power, and doors were left open ventilate the building. Firefighters used their hose to cool down the equipment that had been involved in the fire.
Fire damage was contained to the operating equipment, and smoke damage was limited to the utility closet where the equipment was stored.
