Lithium Ion Battery Fire on East Side

Firefighters responded to the 4700 block of Camden Road for a report of a fire in a first-floor bedroom.
Engine 5 entered the home and found a light haze of dark smoke. Inside the bedroom was a small fire around what appeared to be a bundle of lithium ion batteries.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire with a small amount of water.
Ladder 14 cleared smoke from the home as Engine 5 tore out the damaged carpeting where the fire occurred. The batteries were taken outside.
Firefighters searched for signs of fire spread and confirmed none. Nobody was injured or displaced.
